Best Time of Day for Your Photoshoot
The light makes the photo. For the warm, glowing look you see in the best Algarve family photos, I recommend the golden hour — roughly the 1–2 hours before sunset — when the sun is low, soft and flattering. Sunrise sessions are also wonderful: empty beaches, gentle light and calm. I generally avoid the harsh midday sun (around 12–4pm), which creates strong shadows and squinting. When you book, I’ll suggest the exact best time for your chosen beach and the season.

When is the best time of day for a family photoshoot in the Algarve?
The golden hour before sunset gives the warmest, softest light. Sunrise is great for empty beaches and calm children. I’ll recommend the exact time based on your beach and the season.

What should we wear for a family beach photoshoot?
Soft, neutral and earthy tones work beautifully against the Algarve’s sand and cliffs. Coordinate rather than match exactly, choose light, flowing fabrics, and avoid large logos or bright neon. I’m happy to send styling tips once you book.
How many photos do I receive and when?
Depending on your package, you’ll receive around 25–60 fully edited high-resolution images in a private online gallery, typically within 1–2 weeks of the shoot.
Is a family photoshoot suitable for babies, toddlers and newborns?
Absolutely. Sessions are unhurried and led by your child’s pace, with plenty of breaks for play, snacks and cuddles — so even the littlest ones stay relaxed and happy.
Can the photoshoot take place at our villa or accommodation?
Yes. While the beaches and cliffs are stunning, I’m happy to shoot at your villa, hotel or holiday home — a lovely option for newborns or very young children.
Do you also offer family videos?
Yes — alongside photography I’m also a videographer, so I can add a short, natural family film to your session on request. Just let me know and I’ll include it in your quote.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The Algarve enjoys sunshine most of the year, but if the weather doesn’t cooperate we’ll simply reschedule to the next best slot at no extra cost.
Which languages do you speak?
Sessions can be in English or German — whatever feels most comfortable for your family.
